birthday and blueberry

My sweet little girl turned one of friday! Crazy how fast it goes. We two parties, one with her little friends celebrated with cousin Elie since their birthdays are two days apart. Then we had just family over the next day. This is what Nathan did for me. I tried to make the butterflies but got too stressed out so he had to take over. So glad he is better at detail than me. Thanks Nate!

She is just so excited to be one!



Also, my baby is the size of a blueberry now. ; )

I forgot

It's crazy how much you forget. I have been through this pregnancy thing twice now and some how I forgot what it was like. I forgot how tired I am in the beginning. Maybe I am more tired this time around because I have more that I am doing but I get out the shower and just want to sleep, like i just ran a marathon. Also, poor Nathan. I am so stinkin' emotional. I get mad about everything then cry. I can tell by the look on his face that he thinks I'm crazy, and I guess I kind of am. I know i'm being irrational but it doesn't matter, i can't help myself. 2nd trimester, I look forward to you being in my life.

The two things I hear the most in a day from Caelan are

I'm hungry and wanna battle?

I'm going to be broke by the time he is 10. He is going to be on his own for his teenage years.

And apparently they don't grow out of it.... Nathan and Caelan were battling last night and heard Nathan giving Caelan some advice,

"Caelan sometime you will get into a battle and not have a gun or sword so you need to learn to use your hands. Show me your karate chop. Good. Now a good place to karate chop is right in neck. It'll get 'em every time."

Not a fun surprise

Two things I have notice recently. One, the dryer takes FOREVER to dry. It takes almost two full cycles to get fully dry. I did some research and found out that I need to clean out the dryer vent... Two, I have been smelling something GROSS recently. I could never really place where it was coming from and it was never constant. Note to self, I need to clean the house.

So today I decided to move the dryer and look at what was ahead of me. I thought I could try and just vacuum it out and if it was more that I would let Nathan deal with it. So i pulled the dryer out and unplugged it. Disconnected the hose from the dryer and started to vacuum, we have a shop vac. I looked like all the of the lint had just been going straight behind the dryer. Gross. I was just about to disconnect the hose from the wall when I found this.



GROSS! A bird in our dryer vent. I guess that solves both of the issues. I'm so glad the tail feathers were sticking out and I didn't open it up and this is what fell out. Poor thing probably just wanted a warm place to be. Needless to say, Nathan got to deal with it. Thank goodness for husbands.

Christmas!

Christmas was so fun! and actually isn't over for us. We have our last Christmas party today. Here were some of the presents that I made for other people...
